When we think of a development diary, we immediately think of all those studios we’ve been following for years, whether gargantuan or modest in size. We think of the games that have thrilled us and made us dream, and we tell ourselves that it’s a bit “pretentious” to talk about a development diary for a little game like ours, when we’re just getting started… But we’re excited to share our journey with you!
And yet, that’s the perfect word to use because, modest though it may be, our game is well and truly in development! It’s a bit strange to think that we’re launching our development diary, but we’re really excited to share this first entry with you!
Development has begun!
After months of reflection, research, and doubt, we’ve finally finished writing the general outline of our first game, currently codenamed “Project Olympus.” The first chapter is detailed, storyboarded, and ready to be modeled! Kathleen is going to start talking about our project all over the place because without players, there’s no game. So we’re going to have to start talking a bit about the project. She’ll also be perfecting the texts, writing the next chapter down to the last detail, and preparing the alpha release. She’s been working hard to bring you a LORE that’s coherent, fun, and deep!
Stéphan is off to a great start, modeling the characters and scenery while coding the game. It’s a big job, but it means we can officially start developing the game!
As we’ve said, we’re just getting started, and it’s clear that we can’t do everything at once. But that’s okay! We have to eat lots and lots of tutorials, find resources that allow us both to learn and to make progress, etc. It’s an exciting adventure, but also a stressful one, because we’ve announced the game and given ourselves a release window! And yes, you have to put a bit of pressure on yourself to move forward!
“Project Olympus” is aiming for late spring!
Yes, we’re pushing ourselves to get ahead, and for various personal reasons, but we’re aiming for a late spring release window for the first chapter, at least, by the end of May/June.
We’re so close! Starting from scratch, two to three months is a relatively short time. One of the reasons is that we’re starting with a modest game to get the hang of it before creating the more advanced game we have in mind. This allows us to simplify development and the modeling work behind it, which we think is a great idea!
We’re aiming for an “alpha” release, which will contain the first chapter only. The other chapters will arrive little by little, with updates and, above all, we hope, corrections based on your feedback. We create games that we love, because that’s the basis, but it’s also important that players give us their opinions, their feelings, so that we can constantly improve our work. We can’t wait to hear what you think!
We know it’s a tight window, but we’re up for the challenge! We hope you’ll be there to support the project, test it, and enjoy it with us!
Follow the adventure on X and our blog!
Don’t hesitate to visit us here or on our X! For obvious reasons, we’ll be keeping all the content SFW on these networks, so don’t worry. For NSFW content, everything will be in-game and later, on other dedicated media! So you can follow us without fear of showing anything too racy!
So see you soon for the next development diary, remember to support our game, and thanks for reading.
Take care of yourself.
Kat and Stef.
